According to recent reports, Hyundai Motor Company has released its global sales figures for May 2024, with total sales reaching 356,223 units, reflecting a modest 1.9% increase year-over-year.
Notably, electric vehicle sales surpassed 17,000 units.
Breaking down the sales figures, Hyundai's domestic market (South Korea) reported a 9.4% decline in May with sales reaching 62,200 units.
In contrast, international markets outside Korea experienced a 4.7% growth, with sales totaling 294,023 units.
It is noteworthy that Hyundai Motor Group surpassed Volkswagen Group in operating profit during the first quarter of 2024, becoming the world's second-largest automaker in terms of profitability.
The group's three brands, Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, and Genesis, collectively generated approximately 36.924 billion RMB in consolidated operating profit in Q1.
